A birthday, an anniversary, or no particular day
A quiet page for someone you have lost
These are usually made on a date the rest of the world has forgotten — the birthday, the anniversary of the day, or an ordinary afternoon when it became necessary. Some are shared with family. A great many are never sent to anybody at all, and are simply somewhere to put it.
Two things matter here more than anywhere else on this site. It is private: unlisted by default, absent from any gallery, and search engines are told not to index it. And it is quiet — the restrained templates, without celebratory motion, are the ones to use.
Templates that suit it
Neither of these was built for grief, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. Both are restrained enough to carry it — the Love Note is a plain written note, and the apology template is the quietest thing we make, with no decoration at all. A template built properly for this is on the list.
What to write
Use these as they are, or as a running start. Every template also has a draft-it-for-me button if the words will not come.
On their birthday
You would have been seventy-one today. We had the cake anyway, because you would have found it funny that we did not.
For family, shared
A year today. We have been telling the same four stories about you all afternoon and getting the details wrong on purpose, the way you used to.
When it is only for you
I still reach for the phone to tell you things. I have decided to keep doing it, and to put them here instead.

Questions people actually ask
Will anyone else be able to find this?
No. There is no public gallery on this site and there never will be. Pages are unlisted, search engines are instructed not to index them, and only someone you give the link to can open it.
Can I keep it longer than a year?
Yes — it renews. We will write to you before it lapses rather than letting it disappear quietly, and you can also download everything you put on it.
