Wedding season, which in India is most of it

A page for the two of them, or for the day itself

Weddings are already saturated with objects. The house fills with things that must be kept because of who gave them, and the actual sentiment gets lost in the logistics of storing it. A page carries the sentiment and takes up no shelf.

Two people make these. Guests make one for the couple, usually built out of photographs from long before the wedding. Couples make one for each other, to send on the morning of — which is the version people tend to keep longest.

Templates that suit it

A template built specifically for weddings arrives later this year. The anniversary one handles a wedding well in the meantime — it is built around a timeline and a date.

What to write

Use these as they are, or as a running start. Every template also has a draft-it-for-me button if the words will not come.

  • From a friend, to the couple

I have watched this from the beginning, including the parts you both thought nobody noticed. It was always going to be this. Congratulations, you two.
  • To your partner, on the morning

In a few hours this becomes official and I am oddly calm about it. Everything I want to say I will say badly in front of everyone, so here it is written down properly first.
  • From family

We have known you since you were small enough to hide under the dining table. Today you are somebody’s husband. We are extremely proud and slightly disbelieving.

Works for: A couple getting married · Your husband or wife on the day · Close friends

Questions people actually ask

Can several of us contribute photos?

Anyone can send you photographs and you add them yourself — there is no shared editing, which is deliberate. A wedding page with four editors becomes a group chat with a deadline.

How long does the page stay up?

A year, and you can renew it. For an anniversary you can also simply make a new one — the counter picks up from the wedding date either way.
